Wow, so my brand new shiny blue saxophone arrived this evening - boy does it look cool! To commemorate this moment I have taken a picture of it and uploaded it to my Facebook page, I have already had lots of comments - this saxophone playing is going to make my cool rating go off the charts!

I picked it up with great trepidation and after working out exactly how the mouthpiece slotted on I am pleased to confirm everybody that I was able to get a pretty good sound out of it - what  feeling!

As well as my saxophone I have been provided with stands, straps, books and reeds so after having a play with everything I turned my attention to my learn the saxophone book. Now, first slight issue was that there weren't actually any instructions as how to how to form the notes using the keys. After some research using good old Google I found a great site that has some easy to understand fingering charts. So this week I have been practicing the notes of B, A and G - apparently breathing is the key and I have been doing lots of this too!

So good people of Karacha, watch this space, I am confident that I will be hitting even more notes next week!
