Buy Back

"Are they going to stick at it?"

If you or your child decides learning an instrument is not for you we'll buy it back!

**Please note Buy Back is a great peace of mind option for customers buying an instrument outright, but if you would prefer to rent by paying monthly installments and also have a return option please click here for details of our rental scheme**

At karacha we sell to thousands of parents every year and one of the discsussions we have every day  is regarding children sticking with learning instruments after the first few months. A Karacha survey of 1000 people found that the vast majority of parents consider their child learning a musical instrument as "important" or "very important", a fantastic and encouraging result.

However money is tight in 2009 and we know some parents are concerned that if they buy a good instrument and then the child decides they don't want to learn you'll be stuck with the instrument. Other parents tell us to let their child try out an instrument they will buy a very cheap one and if they stick with it get a better one. The problem with this is that a cheap and nasty instrument can be prohibitive to a child's experience, there's nothing worse than attempting to learn on a poor quality instrument. And of course if they do stick with it then your stuck with a cheap instrument as well as a new one. Other people opt to rent an instrument, renting can be expensive and if after 12 months they decide to stick with it, your rental payments may have been enough to buy an instrument (although the karacha rental scheme is extremely good value!)!

Karacha is continually undertaking activities to help promote music and all our instruments have received great reviews and are approved by teachers, but now we believe with our buy back scheme parents can buy great quality instruments safe in the knowledge that if the child decides against it after a few months karacha will buy back the instrument!

How it works:

Buy an instrument with karacha.com. Inform us you wish to participate in "buy back" if you do not tell us at the time of purchase then a buy back will be refused. Simply send an email (within 24 hours) with your order number or tell the customer services representative when buying. You will receive an email confirmation that your instrument is covered by buy back.  There is no obligation, we simply need a record of customers who may use the buy back scheme.

If you or your child decides learning the instrument is not working out simply call us and let us know you would like to organise a buy back. The instrument needs to be in good working order and show signs of being well maintained, if the instrument is damaged the buy back may be refused or a repair charge may need to be applied. The instrument must be returned within 6 months of the day of purchase, our research shows that if someone is still playing after 6 months they are likely to continue on for some time.

What will Karacha Pay?

We will simply deduct a rental charge for each month (or part of month) you had the instrument. There is a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months.

Our monthly rental charges are slightly higher than our own rental scheme but still much lower than as what many other shops charge for rental, if you stick with it then you haven't lost rental payments, if you don't then you've essentially rented an instrument for below the average rental prices.

Rental charge per month or part of month (you may return within 3,4,5,or 6 months):

Carmichael Alto Saxophone £23

Carmichael Tenor Saxophone £29

 Carmichael Clarinet £12

Carmichael Flute £12

Carmichael Trumpet £12

Archetto Presto Violin £7.00

Archetto Presto Coloured Violin £8.00

Only instruments listed above are part of buy back. If bought as part of a pack karacha can only buy back the instrument unfortunately used accessories cannot be re-sold. In the case of an instrument pack we will assign a value to the accessories and deduct this from the pack.

Buy back is always based on the price paid, eg in an instrument is on sale the rental charges are still the same.

Eg.

If you buy a saxophone on the 1st of January for £229. You may return it any time after 31st March for £160. Before the 1st of May for £137. Before the 1st of June for £114. Your last chance would be to return the saxophone before the 1st of July for £91.

Buy back only applies to instruments which are marked as such on the product page.

The instrument is posted to karacha at the customers cost.
